Overview
Wilkes University's Upward Bound Program is seeking a Director (RD) to lead the residential experience for its Summer 2026 Bridge Program. The RD will supervise Residential Advisors (RAs), support high school students in a college‑preparatory environment, and help create a safe, structured, and engaging campus community.
Program Details The program runs June 7 through July 31, 2026, and requires the RD to live on campus and supervise students and staff Sunday evenings through Fridays.
Responsibilities Oversee residential operations, support student transition to campus life, coordinate programming and evening activities, and collaborate with staff on student support and program planning.
Qualifications Candidates should have experience in residential life, youth programs, mentoring, or a related field, and be a current or rising college junior, senior, or college graduate. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage and support student staff, handle conflict and student concerns, and work with diverse student populations, including first‑ and low‑income students. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and complete Mandated Reporter Training.
Benefits The position offers a $5,200 stipend, room and board, meals during the program, one evening off per week, and no weekend responsibilities.
