
Maintenance Director

Hickory Falls Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility hiring a full-time Maintenance Director.
Position Summary The Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and appearance of the skilled nursing facility. This role ensures that the building, equipment, and grounds are properly maintained and compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations, including healthcare-specific safety standards. The Maintenance Director plays a critical role in providing a safe, comfortable, and functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities Facility Maintenance & Operations
Oversee daily maintenance operations, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
Ensure timely completion of work orders and repairs
Maintain facility equipment and tools in proper working condition
Coordinate and supervise outside contractors and vendors
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with all applicable life safety codes, OSHA regulations, and healthcare facility standards
Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments
Maintain fire safety systems, including alarms, extinguishers, and sprinkler systems
Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including drills and disaster planning
Maintain required documentation for surveys and inspections
Grounds & Environmental Services Oversight
Oversee upkeep of building exterior, parking areas, and landscaping
Ensure proper waste management and environmental safety practices
Qualifications Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification preferred
Minimum of 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in healthcare or long‑term care
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
Familiarity with life safety codes and healthcare regulations
Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills
Effective communication and leadership abilities
