Description
Holy Rosary Catholic Church and School seeks a dedicated
Maintenance Director
to oversee the care, safety, and operation of all parish and school facilities. This role ensures a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for worship, learning, and ministry while supporting the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
Key Responsibilities Facilities & Repairs
Maintain all buildings, including church, classrooms, offices, and auxiliary spaces
Perform routine repairs and coordinate major work for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
Implement preventative maintenance schedules and maintain inspection records
Grounds & Exterior
Oversee landscaping, lawn care, playgrounds, sidewalks, and parking areas
Ensure safety during inclement weather and monitor exterior lighting and security systems
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, fire codes, OSHA, and local regulations
Maintain fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, and safety signage
Report hazards promptly and assist in risk management
Custodial & Event Support
Supervise custodial staff and maintain cleaning standards
Manage custodial and maintenance supplies
Prepare facilities for Masses, liturgies, school events, and parish functions
Vendor & Budget Oversight
Supervise contractors and capital improvement projects
Obtain bids following diocesan financial policies
Assist Pastor with maintenance budget planning and long-term facility needs
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (trade certification/technical training preferred)
Minimum 5 years of facilities maintenance experience, ideally in a parish, school, or institutional setting
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance
Supervisory experience preferred
Valid driver’s license; ability to lift, climb, and perform physical labor

Indoor and outdoor work; occasional evenings and weekends for events
Availability for emergency maintenance situations
