Admissions & Records Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for creating and maintaining College admissions records for both new applicants and returning students. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform job duties from the assigned campus or work location. Monitor daily the Course Plan of Study report and communicate outcomes to the Financial Aid office for processing. Monitor daily consolidation of records in Slate CRM. Retrieve daily list of admitted students from Slate CRM and maintain and print admissions decision letters. Share primary responsibility for accepting applications, processing applications, maintaining student files, making referrals and answering other questions relative to admissions and records requirements, including for academic programs with special admissions requirements. Serve as a subject matter expert with regard to College admissions and records policies and procedures and assist students, faculty and staff with these policies and procedures. Process applications, transcripts, and other admissions documents, ensuring that data entry in all relevant systems is accurate. Respond to student inquiries with regard to their files and the status of their applications, transcripts and other relevant items. Notify students of transfer credit from previous institutions and post credits to students’ academic record. Coordinate evaluation of transfer credit with Academic Divisions. Maintain physical and electronic student records in accordance with department and College standards. Serve as a registrar for the Selective Service System by verifying students’ Selective Service registration status. Provide clerical and functional support to the Welcome Center as needed or assigned. Assist with College graduation ceremonies. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s degree. One (1) year experience working in an office setting. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior work experience in higher education, particularly in an admissions or records office. Experience using Banner Student. Experience with Slate CRM. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of co-workers, faculty, staff and students. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to make decisions independently. Strong organizational, analytical and technical skills. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work some evenings, weekends and special events as needed or assigned. Rate of Pay: $34,359.00 - $41,223.00 depending on experience
