Assistant Director Weigel Productions is seeking an intellectually curious, strong communicator, and hardworking individual to join its creative team in our Chicago West Loop studios.
About The Role
Work directly with Weigel’s Creative team, Director and Production team to execute all show related elements
Assist in creation of multiple productions
Focus on overall show direction and production, applying technical expertise to creative vision
Apply strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
What You’ll Do
Provide support and fill in across key production roles during tapings, including Director/TD, camera operation, audio, and floor direction
Assist with daily production needs and deliver on site support during field shoots
Communicate clearly and proactively with cross functional teams
Perform additional duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
5-7 years of experience in a video production leadership role within broadcast, digital, or cable environments (required)
Prior directing experience (preferred)
Experience with studio videography, lighting, audio production, vMix streaming software, and Ross Xpression Graphics (preferred)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail with proven time management abilities
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on production demands
Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
