
Sr. Analyst Planner/Buyer

Summary The main function of a buyer is to purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. A typical buyer is responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization. A purchasing agent is responsible for the purchase of machinery, equipment, parts, or services necessary for the operation of an establishment.
Job Responsibilities
Production planning for sub-assemblies (not demand planning or distribution)
Plan based on global MPS (Material Planning Schedule)
Create work orders for production lines
Place purchase orders for metals (bars, sheets, chips)
Follow up on supplier deliveries & expedite if needed
Coordinate with operations, quality, and supply chain teams
Handle quality issues & ensure traceability (track & trace)
Work in manual/less automated planning systems
High focus on planning vs. purchasing
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in finance or a related business field required.
5-7 years finance related experience required
Experience in metals / automotive / semiconductor industries
ERP: Oracle JDE (JD Edwards) (SAP/Oracle experience is acceptable
Strong Excel skills are mandatory (manual planning environment)
Transfer/project experience (plant relocation or setup transitions)
Experience working with planning systems (JDE, Oracle)
Experience in structured manufacturing environments
Working with metal components (bars, sheets, steel)
Production planning (sub-assembly level - core focus)
Purchasing & supplier coordination (secondary focus)
Problem-solving & adaptability in a fast-moving environment
