
Solar Technical Sales Engineer

Wayfare Energy is currently looking for a Solar Technical Sales Engineer. The Solar Technical Sales Engineer position is responsible for reviewing project requirements and providing ongoing support to the sales and project teams. The Technical Sales Engineer will support a wide range of solar projects of varying sizes while supporting a full scope of sales activities, overseeing inventory levels and providing procurement and pricing support.
Responsibilities include:
Technical Sales Support
Review engineering plans of proposed projects and approve for permitting
Advise sales staff on technical feasibility of PV solar projects
Keep up to date on new products and materials
Create sales support materials for sales staff
Co-write responses to requests for proposals
Procurement & Inventory Management
Prepare order lists
Negotiate pricing
Order and receive parts
Manage inventory levels
Technical Project Support
Review and approve engineering plans
Do take-offs from engineering plans
Advise on technical aspects to design and engineer PV Solar projects
Plan and schedule PV Solar projects
Design installation quality standard and procedures
Manage safety plan
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have:
At least one year experience as a solar installation crew lead to be considered Must have experience reading engineering plans Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills, detail-orientated and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment Experience negotiating contracts/vendor pricing Office and Excel experience required Experience with Aurora a plus
Interest in solar industry Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Valid driver's license Reliable transportation
Authorized to work in the U.S.
