Coordinator, Student Communications & Social Media (Part Time)
SUMMARY
Responsible for coordinating, creating and publishing content in support of student communications strategies for the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research, collect and assess data needed from sources to create content for the website, email/text campaigns, flyers, videos, social media, events and other creative platforms.
Assist with creating, tracking, and scheduling communication workflows for students across the student lifespan including prospective student outreach, the onboarding and admission process, retention and early alert initiatives, student events, and faculty outreach.
Provide copy-editing assistance and maintenance of content accuracy across multiple platforms.
Assist in brainstorming and executing communications strategies for different audiences and simplifying complex language and long paragraphs into clear, concise, and student-friendly language.
Create clean graphic design content for multiple platforms.
Prepare reports and identify tracking mechanisms for measuring impact and effectiveness of communication outreach and campaigns.
Maintain standards for marketing and communication functions, ensuring adherence to HCC branding standards and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Organizational Communications or a related field required.
EXPERIENCE
2 years’ experience in marketing, community relations and/or public relations, or a related field required. Experience with design concepts and proficiency in writing communications copy and repurposing content across multiple platforms preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Knowledge of Social Media Reporting/Analytics.
