Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Development serves as a frontline fundraiser for the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and is responsible for raising financial support for college-wide priorities as well as priorities across departments and programs within the College. Through frequent travel and in-person meetings, the Assistant Director will qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual prospects and donors in support of Franklin College, with a focus on securing gifts in the $1,500–$50,000 range. This role also identifies and refers major gift prospects capable of making gifts of $50,000 or more, collaborates with Franklin development leadership, and helps plan and execute philanthropic strategies for the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the Office of Academic Innovation, the Georgia Museum of Natural History, and other assigned areas or geographic territories.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with prospective donors, alumni, and friends of Franklin College to qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects.
Achieve annual fundraising and performance goals set in collaboration with the Director of Development – Strategic Initiatives.
Record all meetings, interactions, and plans in the GAIL database; complete reports and track fundraising performance.
Prepare and follow up on each visit, including necessary documentation.
Create collaborative partnerships with development colleagues and academic partners to build effective fundraising strategies.
Attend division and development staff meetings and scheduled individual strategy meetings.
Pursue continuous learning and growth through professional development opportunities.
Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects, data collection, event staffing, and stewardship of unassigned prospects.
