Director of Housekeeping and Laundry Services to join our dynamic care team at Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center! Plymouth Rehab is a 152-bed skilled nursing facility. This salaried role offers weekly pay at $26 to $28 an hour, depending on experience.

Experience & Education

Must possess at least a high school diploma.

A minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.

Training in laundry equipment operation and procedures is preferred.

Knowledgeable in building cleaning and floor maintenance techniques.

Duties & Responsibilities

Meet the laundry and housekeeping needs of the facility.

Manage the department within labor and supply budget guidelines.

Ensure completion of the laundry process and timely delivery of adequate linen levels.

Maintain safe and efficient operation of all laundry machinery and equipment.

Store chemicals safely at all times.

Remove worn or soiled linen and clothing from inventory.

Mend and iron as necessary.

Ensure residents’ rooms are neat, clean, and odor‑free.

Wet mop floors daily.

Buff floors as requested.

Shampoo and extract carpets as per schedule.

Attend to spills immediately.

Empty trash liners and clean containers.

Clean bed rails with disinfectant.

Clean all countertops, windowsills, over‑bed and bedside tables, and furniture.

Strip, seal, and refinish floors as per schedule.

Clean windows and mirrors.

Specific Requirements

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Must make independent decisions when warranted.

Must deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the public.

Oversees the quality and workmanship of all cleaning personnel and outside contractors.

Must be knowledgeable of housekeeping and laundry practices and related laws, regulations, and guidelines for long‑term care facilities.

Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non‑professional staff.

Must plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.

Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of housekeeping areas; perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order, safety, and performance of assigned duties.

Ensure compliance with building safety and fire codes.

Complete necessary schedules, worksheets, logs, and records of work performers and planners.

Serve on‑call for emergencies and off‑duty hours.

Represent the department at facility meetings and in various capacities.

Supervise personnel, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, orientating, and evaluating.
