
Broadcast Director - WSOC TV

WSOC TV Charlotte is looking for a Broadcast Director who can direct newscasts in a fast‑paced, live television environment and be able to oversee all technical aspects of a live broadcast. The applicant must be able to adapt quickly to changes and communicate clearly with staff and news management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct live broadcasts using Grass Valley Ignite Automation System
Be responsible for all production aspects of broadcasts
Effectively direct taped segments in a timely manner
Perform PA duties such as Vinten robotic cameras and teleprompter
Manage studio mics and lighting
Do non-linear editing on Avid platform
Troubleshoot problems with technical knowledge of systems
Be cooperative, communicative and lead by example
Minimum Qualifications
Previous broadcast news experience with knowledge of audio mixing, camera operation, video editing and studio lighting
Ability to sit and operate equipment, staying mentally focused, for hours at a time
A desire to work in broadcast news production
