
Sales Consultant

Sells new vehicles at dealership gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction standards. Serves as a liaison between the dealership and its customers and represents the dealership at various public relations events.
Qualifications Education High school diploma or the equivalent. Licenses Driver's License Other Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Professional personal appearance. Excellent communication skills. Ability to meet company's production and quality standards. Physical Requirements Surroundings Move throughout the company facility for most of the shift. Spend time outdoors in the weather and elements. Spend time indoors in air-conditioned areas. Sitting On a regular basis. Standing On a regular basis. Walking On a regular basis. Expectations General Expectations Conduct all business ethically and professionally. Satisfy the transportation needs of vehicle purchasers. Sell and deliver a minimum of 10 units per month. Approach, greet, and assist customers entering the dealership. Help customers select vehicles by asking questions and listening. Explain product performance, features, and benefits. Describe optional equipment. Offer test drives, following dealership procedures. Use dealership sales control and follow-up systems. Commit to customer satisfaction. Know and comply with laws governing retail auto sales. Handle credit applications. Set personal income goals aligned with dealership standards. Attend training and stay updated on products. Understand vehicle equity, depreciation, and financing. Ensure sales manager meets each customer. Complete and process all paperwork accurately. Prepare vehicles for delivery, deliver vehicles, and explain features and paperwork. Introduce customers to service department. Schedule service appointments. Follow up to meet customer expectations. Maintain owner follow-up and prospect development systems. Review actions regularly to improve. Attend sales meetings. Maintain professional appearance and ethical conduct. Develop guidelines to maximize customer satisfaction. Comply with government regulations such as OSHA, FTC, Privacy Act, GLB Act, etc. Other duties may be assigned. Perform pre-delivery inspections and road tests. Attend training and stay current with sales techniques.
