
Cybersecurity Consultant

A global healthcare leader that helps people live more fully at all stages of life is seeking a Cybersecurity Consultant to perform risk assessments and provide corporate cybersecurity guidance. This is a 100% on-site role based in Lake Forest, IL.
The Cybersecurity Consultant is responsible for identifying potential security risks and assisting in implementing strategies to ensure the security of products and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with development and delivery of cybersecurity requirements for product software releases
Support responses to customer security inquiries and audits
Help implement security controls and participate in vulnerability assessments
Document risks and elevate findings to senior team members
Contribute to third‑party vendor and supplier security reviews
Support compliance and governance activities, including documentation updates and policy reviews
Assist in audit preparation for internal and external reviews
Monitor security dashboards and maintain asset inventory records
Participate in incident response activities and investigations
Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement monitoring and security solutions
Participate in software security reviews and identify vulnerabilities
Support security across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments
Assist with administration and monitoring of security systems and configurations
Support troubleshooting and incident response exercises
Track and support remediation of security findings
Assist with vulnerability and threat management activitiesParticipate in cross‑functional cybersecurity initiatives and projects
Help prepare training materials and promote cybersecurity awareness
Contribute to security metrics, reporting, and dashboards
Support Secure Lifecycle Process (SLP) activities and basic threat modeling
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
Minimum 2 years of cybersecurity or IT systems experience (product security preferred)
Minimum 5 years of overall business experience
Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred:
Familiarity with medical devices or diagnostic equipment
Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies
