Responsibilities
Oversee the fund launch process for new investment products and distribution opportunities, change events, restructures, and terminations through the lifecycle of our funds, acting in the capacity of a project manager, coordinating multiple teams to meet tight deadlines.
Liaise with external counterparties (custodian, prime broker, etc.) to enable connectivity, establish operational flows and respond to service requests and inquiries.
Collaborate with internal business groups, internal operations teams, external managers, and custodians to facilitate new investments into GSAM.
Serve as the central point of contact for a number of funds, responding to stakeholder inquiries, problem‑solving issues, and understanding the various components of the fund’s operations.
Maintain the investment book of record of a diverse set of funds including mutual funds, hedge funds and ETFs, paying close attention to detail and ensuring portfolio managers are receiving accurate data to make investment decisions.
Engage with and serve on internal governance committees responsible for various stages in the fund lifecycle.
Have a strong focus on risk management, escalating issues in a timely manner to the appropriate audiences.
Explore solutions to improve fund operations that leverage business intelligence, low‑code automation, industry utilities, and external vendor solutions.
Uplift strategic workflow infrastructure to bring additional control to launch and change events.
Facilitate meetings, curate agendas and arrange presenters, collate materials, communicate with directors, and run meetings for the funds’ boards of directors.
Perform expense analysis to maximize commercial benefit for decisions regarding fund service providers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
3‑5 years of professional experience, working within a project management or middle‑office function preferred.
Must be able to handle multiple, complex tasks, prioritize effectively and be flexible as needs change.
Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage professionally and persuasively with the portfolio management team and senior figures within the firm.
Highly organized with attention‑to‑detail and excellent follow‑through.
Proven ability to build global relationships and communicate complex issues to a broad range of stakeholders with differing levels of product experience.
Ability to multi‑task and work well in a fast‑paced team environment and demonstrate a high level of self‑motivation.
Proficient knowledge and understanding of financial markets and products.
