JOB SUMMARY The Seattle Seahawks are seeking a motivated Seasonal Sports Nutrition Intern to assist in the planning and execution of culinary, clinical and performance‑based nutrition initiatives. This role provides hands‑on experience in a professional sports environment, supporting players’ performance, recovery and overall health.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Culinary and Foodservice Nutrition: (50%)
Develop recipes and procure performance and recovery snacks
Manage daily tasks, including stocking refrigerators, coolers and snack stations; setting up supplement stations; and preparing nutrition shakes
Assist in ordering, inventory and stocking of the Player Lounge/Fueling Station
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and nutrient analysis
Clinical and Performance Nutrition: (20%)
Support player education initiatives, including developing nutrition resources
Counsel and create plans for return‑to‑play and injured players
Assist in player data collection and analysis (hydration, weights, body composition, dietary intake, etc.)
Stay updated on the latest research in nutritional products, practices and supplements
Team Collaboration and Operations: (20%)
Manage the meal and menu app (Teamworks Nutrition)
Participate in Sports Performance meetings
Collaborate and communicate with coaching staff, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, food service staff, players and administration
Professional Development: (10%)
Engage in monthly article reviews (journal club) with a supervisor
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or Exercise Physiology
Minimum 6 months of experience in a collegiate or professional sports nutrition environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn performance software quickly
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to problem‑solve, manage time, stay organized and maintain professionalism
Understanding of HIPAA and professional codes of conduct
Preferred
Registered Dietitian (RD) or RD‑Eligible
Experience with food service operations
Familiarity with design software such as Canva and Adobe Acrobat
WORK SCHEDULE
Maximum Weekly Hours: 45
Orientation/Training: Mid‑July
Training Camp: Mid‑July – End of August (6‑7 days per week)
Regular Season: September 1, 2026 – January or February 2027 (5‑6 days per week)
Meals Provided: 2‑3 meals/day depending on the season
Travel: This is a non‑travel position
COMPENSATION The hourly rate for this position is $22.75. The hourly rate applies to the current posting. The posted hourly rate may vary based on key factors including, but not limited to, education, job‑related knowledge, experience and skill set.
