JOB SUMMARY The Multilingual Authoring Rural Camp (MARC) Director is responsible for the oversight of a week of professional development of writing and multilingual authoring and a week of a student camp where students will learn writing and multilingual composing using strategies and Lego sets. Performs other duties as assigned.

The anticipated start date for this role is May 11, 2026, and the expected end date is June 22, 2026.

JOB DUTIES

60% – Essential – Curriculum and Professional Development: Works to develop appropriate curriculum to be used during both the week of professional development and the week of camp. Curriculum developed will align professional development assignments and student curriculum activities offered during camp. Lead sessions with up to 25 teachers focusing on writing strategies, and facilitating summer camp lesson planning.

40% – Non‑Essential – Summer Camp Facilitation: Coordinate and facilitate summer camp at the school site by supervising teachers providing instruction, monitoring daily activities, and ensuring the program follows the established schedule.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education – Bachelor's Degree

Work Experience – 1+ years in education, management or business

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Education – Master’s Degree in Education, Literacy and/or ESOL

Certifications – Teaching Certification

Work Experience – 2+ years leading professional development for teachers

RESPONSIBILITIES Job Knowledge – Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use them in varied situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Acts as Lead – Guides the work of others who perform essentially the same work.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES No Budget Responsibilities – No fiscal responsibility for the department’s budget.

WORKING CONDITIONS Travel to the school district will be required.

WORK SCHEDULE Standard Hours: 25

COMPAENSATION INFORMATION Anticipated Hiring Range: $27.74/hour – $40.00/hour. Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson’s compensation guidelines.

PERSONNEL LEVEL Normal Operations – Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected to work on‑site during emergency situations.
