
Assistant/Sr. Assistant/Associate Director, Admission

Denison University seeks an Assistant/Senior Assistant/Associate Director of Admission. Reporting to the Director of Recruitment, the Asst/Sr Asst/Assoc Director of Admission will support the strategic plan of the University by recruiting students in an assigned geographic territory. They will market Dension’s academic experience to students and their parents through high school visits, presentations and phone/email communication. They will recruit, evaluate and enroll students according to the goals set forth by the Office of Admission. This position is full-time, and based on the Denison University campus, professional travel notwithstanding.
Essential Job Functions Manage an admission market by planning and executing a travel schedule that supports the strategic recruitment goals of the University. Travel extensively to assigned recruitment markets, participate in recruitment events, develop and execute strategies to engage prospective student audiences. Conduct admission interviews, evaluate applications for admission and make decision recommendations on matters related to admission.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with college counselors to help support student recruitment and retention. Work with alumni, families and friends of Denison to help increase institutional visibility. Represent the University in a professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned.
If Associate, candidate will be able to mentor junior staff and act as a Technolutions Slate lead for the admission team. Must have ability to leverage the Slate CRM to support admission daily operations and strategic priorities; use data and professional judgment to craft a class of students that is academically talented and broadly diverse.
Requirements Asst/Sr Asst:
A bachelor’s degree is required, as is professional experience in a college admission office. The successful candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding or enrollment management strategies. Must have a current valid driver’s license and must be insurable under Denison’s liability insurance policy. Experience using the Technolutions Slate CRM is preferred.
Associate:
Five or more years of progressive experience working in college admission and undergraduate recruitment. In addition, the ideal Associate candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Competitive spirit and demonstrated knowledge with proven success in leading highly successful admission teams
Understanding of national trends in college admissions and undergraduate recruitment
Innovative problem solver with the ability to work across teams positively and effectively fostering shared responsibility and accountability; a demonstrated history of building strong, positive relationships.
Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and utilize data to inform decision-making and creative problem solving.
Advanced user experience in Technolutions Slate CRM, Technically savvy and operationally fluent with the ability to maximize enrollment processes.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including excellent public speaking skills, with the ability to build relationships, communicate clearly and compellingly.
Integrity and excellent judgment; demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially, yet independently, with internal and external constituencies.
Exceptional work ethic, excellent organizational, prioritization and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with highest standards for accuracy.
