Community Relations Manager

Position Reports To : Director of Community Relations

General Description:

The Community Relations Manager will work in various capacities to support the team’s mission to be a positive force in our community. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player who can plan, develop and deliver meaningful community initiatives and events that reflect the organization’s mission and respond to community priorities. This position emphasizes building and managing strategic partnerships, coordinating events and leading programs that strengthen the Baltimore Ravens’ community presence and create measurable positive outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in all community relations programs in both an independent and team environment

Create, schedule and execute community outreach programs for community partners, schools and sponsors related to the team’s main initiatives

Collaborate with internal teams (Corporate Sales, Marketing, Ticketing, Stadium Operations, etc.) to integrate community initiatives into broader organizational programming

Compose written communications surrounding all community-related activations

Oversee volunteer opportunities, both internally and externally

Calculate measurable outcomes, cultivate and pitch compelling stories to demonstrate impact

Create and manage budgets for respective programs

Assist with all community relations home gameday activities and initiatives

Plan, coordinate and execute player visits to community events and appearances

Assist in the execution of Ravens Foundation initiatives

Serve as a liaison to maintain strong working relationships with partners and non-profit organizations

Manage Community Relations Internship program, assisting in hiring, supervision and guidance

Provide ideas and plans for continued expanded programming within team’s market

Other duties as assigned

Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in sports management, marketing, business, communications or related field

Minimum of five years’ experience working in community relations, partnership activation, event management, marketing or nonprofit work

Strong event planning and logistics management skills with a proven ability to execute large-scale community and/or fundraising activations

Proficient computer skills with experience using InDesign, Excel, CRM, Word, PowerPoint, Canva and others

Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:

High-character individual with strong leadership abilities, and a track record of conceptualizing, executing and completing projects successfully

Excellent people skills with the ability to interact effectively with all types of individuals, including staff and management, professional and elite athletes, members of the media, senior government officials, community members and corporate representatives

Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with outstanding time/task management skills

Impeccable writing and proof-reading skills

Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment under strict time deadlines

Must be a team player with strong self and group awareness, and someone who operates with a customer service focus

Supreme attention to detail in all aspects of operation

Present and promote the team’s community relations programs in a manner that creates interest by the community, fans, partners and public and builds enthusiasm for the team and football in general

Event coordination experience is preferred

Must possess excellent decision-making skills

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Thorough understanding and a passion for the sport of football

Creative ability, both in generating ideas and solving problems

Ability to lead by example and motivate a team of individuals

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays and evenings, as required

Salary and Benefits

Range: $75,000 – 90,000

Company-paid health insurance, including health and vision; dental insurance also provided with minimal employee contribution

Paid time off to include 20 vacation days and 5 personal/sick days
