
Visitation Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
Are you an individual who is dedicated to supporting families and ensuring safe, nurturing spaces for parent-child connections? Join SPCC as a Visitation Specialist and be part of a trauma-informed team that helps families rebuild and strengthen relationships through supervised visits by providing visit coaching and support. This is a dynamic role where you'll provide direct client contact services within client homes, the Visitation Center, or other areas within the community. In this role you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with community partners and be a part of maintaining a child-focused, trauma informed, family-oriented environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and coach parent-child visits at the center, in homes, or community settings
Document visits in COMET and NYS Connections
Provide case management, safety planning, advocacy, and referrals
Communicate with caseworkers, therapists, and transport providers
Deliver parent education and maintain clean, safe visitation spaces
Attend court hearings and case conferences as needed
Submit monthly statistics and participate in individual/group supervision
Continuously engage in learning aligned with trauma-informed and reflective practices
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in social work or related field, e.g., psychology, sociology and/or counseling, with a minimum of two years' experience working with children and families preferred. In lieu of a four-year degree, candidates with a minimum of five years’ experience working with children and families who have experienced trauma may be considered.
Intimate partner violence and/or parent education experience preferred.
