Job Summary The Assistant Director of Freshman Recruitment implements Augusta University’s freshman recruitment plan to recruit, admit, and enroll new first‑year students. The position supervises multiple Admissions Counselors assigned to specific geographic territories with enrollment targets, assists them in territory management and decision making, and manages the director’s own assigned territory to meet enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

Territory Management:

Manage a specific recruitment territory, use data to plan and implement recruitment efforts, schedule and conduct high‑school visits, travel to fairs and events, coordinate school counselor relationships, communicate with prospective students and families via email, phone, social media and in‑person meetings, and give presentations at events.

Recruitment Team Leadership:

Supervise and assign tasks to Admissions Counselors, provide guidance, train staff to use data and trends, assist in analyzing applicant reports, train on travel planning and travel policies, and analyze applicant reports for trends to guide recruitment decisions.

Strategic Recruitment & Departmental Leadership:

Create and implement recruitment tactics and event programming, develop communications to prospective students (including electronic communications via Slate CRM), manage special events and recruitment strategies for special populations such as Jaguar Jumpstart, Professional Scholars and Honors programs.

Committees:

Serve on institutional and divisional committees to support the mission of Augusta University.

Other:

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in admissions, higher education, or a related field, OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in admissions, higher education, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree with related experience in student affairs, higher education, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge:

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Understanding of emerging best practices in recruitment and admissions.

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.

Demonstrated project management skills.

Demonstrated event planning skills.

Abilities:

Maintain confidentiality.

Lead a team.

Analyze, interpret, and utilize complex admission and enrollment data.

Respond to sensitive inquiries or students in challenging situations.

Commitment to a student‑centered, residential campus environment through collaborative teamwork.

Shift / Salary / Benefits

Shift: Days, Monday‑Friday (work outside standard business hours may be required).

Pay Band: B10

Salary: $52,500–$54,600 annually (commensurate with qualifications).

Benefits: Full‑time eligible employees receive health, dental, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System or Optional Retirement Plan, vacation, sick leave, 13 paid holidays; Tuition Assistance Program after 6 months.

Recruitment Period: Until Filled.

Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of a background check prior to starting.

Credit check and motor vehicle reports may be required for positions requiring vehicle use.

Proof of completed academic degree(s) and transcripts required for Faculty Hires.
