Personal Banker I – Seward Branch
We are seeking a Customer Service Professional to join our team. Personal Bankers welcome customers and deliver consistent, exceptional service, building relationships to recommend the best products, services, and solutions to meet their needs. This role may also involve training, coaching, and mentoring branch employees.
Salary:
$23.45/hour minimum; offer commensurate with experience.
Schedule:
Monday‑Thursday, 8:30 am‑5:30 pm; Friday varies.
General Purpose Summary Responsible for welcoming customers to the branch and delivering consistent, exceptional customer service by engaging with customers to build and deepen relationships. By uncovering banking needs and recommending appropriate products, the Personal Banker I acts as a liaison between customers, the Cash Management Sales Team, and the branch operations team to ensure timely and accurate service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide consistent, exceptional service that enhances customer interactions through a genuine desire to assist.
Engage with customers to uncover banking needs, cross‑sell multiple products, and identify opportunities for referral to FNBA specialists.
Open and update consumer and business accounts, including complex business ownership structures.
Utilize consumer and business digital platforms to guide customers through mobile applications and enhance the branch experience.
Advise on Cash Management services and recommend solutions; serve as the liaison to the Cash Management Sales Team.
Direct, coach, and mentor branch employees; collaborate closely with the Branch Manager or Operations Supervisor to meet critical timelines, maintain operational controls, and complete daily branch functions.
Assist consumers with personal loan and credit card applications, and help businesses with credit card applications.
Process debit card cancellations and reissues, account disputes, stop payments, and research transaction issues.
Perform teller corrections, approve customer transactions, and verify and send wire transfers within defined limits and authority using the bank’s computer systems.
Act as Vault Teller and Safe Deposit Box Attendant; perform Universal Teller II duties as assigned.
Comply with First National Bank Alaska policies and all regulatory requirements; complete required compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls.
Carry out other work‑related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Stay up to date on relevant laws and regulations and complete all compliance training on time.
Maintain customer confidence and protect the bank’s operations by safeguarding confidential information.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
Minimum: Two years of customer service experience with at least one year of relationship development experience in the financial industry; or three years of relational sales experience. Preferred: Knowledge of First National Bank Alaska products and services.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient with personal computer operation (monitor, keyboard, mouse); keyboard 35 wpm and 10‑key calculator required. Word processing and spreadsheet experience preferred. Must possess strong communication, interpersonal skills, discretion, good judgment, integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and regulatory documents; write reports and business correspondence; present information and respond to questions from managers, business customers, and the public.
Mathematical Skills:
Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, and other figures.
Reasoning Skills:
Ability to solve practical problems, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
Physical Demands Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently need to stand, walk, sit, and use hands. Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift or move up to 25 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally. Required vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Working Conditions Noise level is usually moderate.
