RMC is hiring a Human Resource Specialist to support our customer at NSWC Indian Head, in Indian Head, MD. The selected applicant shall provide professional assistance to managers and employees in various personnel areas of human resources including recruitment, job classification, employee development, performance management/awards, employee benefits, labor relations, and employee relations.
Responsibilities
Inputting, extracting, and compiling information in/from various data systems, preparing and routing personnel actions, assisting managers with writing performance objectives/expectations, position descriptions, and addendums
Preparing career ladder requirements for the different job series in the office, preparing and updating letters and correspondence with proper grammar and formatting following guidance outlined in the Navy Correspondence Manual
Creating and maintaining multiple appointments, meeting requests, and calendars in Microsoft Outlook
Copying and filing, scanning documents, answering phone calls and visitors appropriately, or taking messages as necessary
Assisting specialists within the office on human resources-related tasks
Qualifications
Associate's degree in human resources, management, business administration, or other relevant fields, or a High School Diploma/GED equivalent and three years of experience may substitute for the Associate's degree
Two (2) years of recent experience in analyzing, managing, and improving major aspects of human resources, organizational processes, and functions, with a minimum of one (1) year in a Federal Agency environment
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and excellent communication skills; knowledge of DoD and Navy processes, specifically related to Human Resources, is preferred
Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start
