For more information about the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, please visit: http://www.chicagobooth.edu/.**Job Summary**The Director of Operations and Events will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Student Life team, including planning, implementation, and management of community-wide programming, budgets, and contracts. Coordinates Student Life events, including but not limited to, convocation, speakers, wellness, and joint degree events, and celebration.

This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored employment authorization.**Responsibilities*** Supervises the Student Life Operations team, which is comprised of the Associate Director of Events, Sr. Assistant Director of Student Life, and Project Assistant III.* Leads the coordination of Student Life events, including but not limited to, Convocation, Distinguished Speakers, wellness events, joint degree events, orientations, and Celebration.* Plan and coordinate Spring Convocation Weekend, a celebratory weekend for graduates and their guests by organizing social events, receptions, mock classes, and faculty involvement.* Monitors and updates Student Life websites and helps larger Student Life team to craft marketing messages and communications strategy.* Partners with faculty to host student-focused events.* Manages the Student Life handbooks for all MBA and Specialized Masters programs.* Serves as Student Life liaison to contract process by facilitating contracts for FT, E/W, and Specialized Masters events under $10,000.

Works closely with accounting and budgeting office to ensure contracts and events are facilitated successfully under University fiscal policies.* Monitors and manages Student Life budgets and expenses.* Develops surveys and event analytics to assess office and event success.* Supervises and implements large operations initiatives for student on-boarding, including but not limited to, student nametags, student table tents, annual student handbook and student photo book.* Oversees team staffing schedules and front desk operations.* Supports the Senior Director of Student Life and Associate Dean/Dean of Students for MBA and Specialized Masters Programs in special projects as assigned.* Provides staff management, resources, and training to organizations that create meaningful co-curricular and/or community service experiences for students.* Manages the operations of a variety of key student life facilities.
