Job Summary The Director of Facilities Maintenance, in conjunction with the Executive Director of Facilities Engineering, is responsible for the integration and operations of all performance improvement functions and activities within NGMC Gainesville. The Director will plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and control the activities of the plant operations and maintenance functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and grounds of this hospital in an operative and safe working condition. The Director shall be accountable to the Executive Director of Facilities Engineering for planning and maintaining an effective organization, administering labor and material controls and for training of maintenance personnel in safety for effective management practices. Responsible for all fiscal monitoring and reporting activities of the department.

Minimum Job Qualifications

Licensure or other certifications:

GA state mechanical license without restrictions, state boiler operator license and EPD license for UST preferred.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in related field. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, Four (4) additional years of job-related experience is acceptable.

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of seven (7) years experience in leading facility operations. Must be knowledgeable in Code of Federal Regulations and other regulatory statutes to include facility design standards, environmental laws, and OSHA regulations.

Preferred Job Qualifications

Preferred Licensure or other certifications:

CHFM, CHC, CHOP preferred.

Knowledge of the guidelines and practices of the medical staff and administration

Knowledge of budget preparation and management principles

Knowledge of current safety, life safety, equipment, and utilities engineering management theory and practices

Knowledge of infection control practices

Knowledge of quality improvement practices

Knowledge of federal regulations and other regulatory statutes to include facility design standards, environmental laws, OSHA regulations, and DNV standards

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

Responsible for integration and operations of all performance improvement function and activities within NGMC Gainesville.

Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and control the daily activities of the plant operations department.

Responsible for overseeing operational functions of all physical structures, HVAC, mechanical systems, electrical systems, utilities, and grounds for NGMC campus.

Responsible for planning and maintaining an effective organization, administering labor and material controls, and for training of maintenance personnel in safety for effective management practices.

Evaluate and provide recommendations to the Executive Director necessary modifications, upgrades, or installations of life safety systems.

Supervise staff according to the department structure.

Oversee vendor services to ensure work is completed and in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Assist in the preparation of the department budget.

Responsible for all fiscal monitoring and reporting activities of the department.
