Purchasing Manager | Grandville, MI
Salary Range:
$83,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Grandville region seeking experienced Purchasing Managers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic purchasing plans and policies to support manufacturing operations.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers globally to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
Manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery, quality compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to forecast material needs and ensure supply chain continuity.
Implement cost reduction strategies and initiatives without compromising product quality or supply reliability.
Oversee inventory levels of purchased materials to minimize carrying costs while preventing stockouts.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced supply chain analytics tools.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory control, and quality assurance principles.
Bonus Qualifications
Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt preferred)
Experience with ERP/MRP system implementation or significant module upgrades
Fluency in a second language relevant to international sourcing
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
