Leasing Consultant
Salary: $20 to $23 per hour. 30% housing discount available.

About the Position We’re looking for a talented leasing consultant who will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to apartment rentals, move‑ins, move‑outs, and lease renewals. The leasing consultant is also responsible for interacting directly with prospective and current residents to achieve maximum occupancy and ensure resident retention and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Focus on the needs of others by listening, understanding, and showing empathy and respect.
Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current residents, promoting a quality living experience.
Generate and handle traffic, qualify prospective residents, lease apartments, prepare lease documentation, and complete move‑in paperwork.
Ensure model apartments are in touring condition.
Orient prospective and current residents to the property; process renewal paperwork.
Maintain accurate records of traffic activity by entering information into the computer.
Follow up with prospective residents via phone, mail, or email.
Convert phone traffic into scheduled appointments for property tours.
Inspect apartments prior to move‑ins and coordinate move‑in/out schedules with maintenance.
Create and maintain confidential resident files, reviewing move‑in paperwork with new residents.
Complete weekly leasing reports accurately and timely.
Complete all open/close procedures daily.
Assist with ongoing resident relations throughout tenancy, responding to requests promptly and accurately.
Shop competitive properties.
Inspect buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness, alerting maintenance to needed repairs.
Assist with processing work order requests for residents, ensuring timely completion.
Provide clerical support such as answering phone calls, filing, and processing property invoices as needed.
Assist with planning and implementing resident activities to increase retention.
Comply with all company policies, health & safety rules, and local, state, and federal laws.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High school diploma is required.
Minimum of one year of previous sales experience is preferred.
One year of previous residential leasing experience is preferred.
Skills and Requirements
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Prior experience with Yardi Voyager or another equivalent system is preferred.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and sensitively with all levels of management.
Ability to handle confidential matters with sensitivity.
Work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Relay technical concerns with adequate detail quickly and accurately.
Read, write, comprehend, and converse in English.
Use general office equipment (telephone, fax, printer, copier, key track system).
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Manage situations involving angry or difficult people.
Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; current auto insurance is required.
Comply with all safety requirements.
