Job Description
The Carondelet Park Rec Complex is looking for a motivated individual to serve as Health and Wellness Director. The role will lead programs and staff to enhance community health and well‑being.
Responsibilities
Direct and supervise program activities to meet community needs and YMCA objectives.
Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and evaluate staff and volunteers.
Develop new program activities and expand existing ones according to strategic and operating plans.
Assist with marketing and distribution of program information, including organizing and scheduling registrations and processing scholarship applications.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
Develop and monitor program budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
Coordinate facility use for program activities and events.
Support YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
Respond to member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely, professional manner.
Assist with Program Committee meetings and compile program statistics.
Fulfill the YMCA mission, vision and values through excellent customer service, creative problem‑solving, decision‑making, and stewardship of resources.
Fundraise for YMCA programs, including World Service, United Way, Annual Campaign, and related events.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills; be dependable, punctual, organized and creative.
Provide instruction to clients and members in a noncompetitive, nonintimidating manner and serve as a positive physical role model.
Maintain steady growth in program services with a high percentage of returning participants.
Oversee administration of program services and ensure purposeful coordination.
Ensure good public relations, sound financial conditions, and effective equipment management.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
One to two years of related experience preferred.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Completion of YMCA program‑specific certifications.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups from all social and economic segments.
