SUMMARY The Corporate Technical Trainer directs the training staff and technical training at all facilities. Other duties include assisting technicians with live technical troubleshooting to diagnose and repair material handling equipment. The role also includes supporting technicians in the shops and field to create efficiency and track SST’s for the entire company under Atlanta Forklifts. Other responsibilities include telemetry, Lithium Battery software, Linde, Karcher, Heli, Princeton, Manitou, Hyundai, and Big Joe.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS
Assist with recruiting efforts, onboarding activities and culture orientation.
Prepare and conduct technical training programs.
Prepare and conduct customer service training programs.
Assess training needs and certification requirements.
Deploy training to targeted personnel.
Prepare training material and classroom agenda.
Conduct presentations and webinars.
Create or source instructor materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids).
Assist in computer-based and multimedia curriculum.
Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills for all Technical trainers.
Ensure the quality and consistency of course content.
Administer the training to comply with AFL Safe Work Guidelines, safety requirements, and quality control process.
Plan and direct classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies.
Manage technical training summary to keep technician staff current on their required training classes and e-learning.
Distribute Technical Service bulletins and other related technical information via email and review at monthly service meetings.
Update service information to be installed on technician laptops.
Maintain a clean and orderly service training area at each facility.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2+ years’ experience in delivering technical training/teaching/instruction.
Strong knowledge of electronic, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Experience developing, delivering, and managing training (classroom, webinar, e-learning).
Strong experience in creating a range of training/teaching aids.
Travel required for training and technical assistance.
Attend training classes, seminars, tradeshows, and dealer meetings necessary to maintain current knowledge pertaining to technical training, industry or product knowledge.
Keep required training certificates up to date.
Must have strong computer skills.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / LICENSE REQUIREMENTS Toyota Certified Trainer to be acquired (within 18 months). Technical degree preferred. Must have and maintain a clean driving record and current valid driver’s license.
WORK CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS Most work is performed in a maintenance/classroom environment. Some work is performed in an office setting. This position travels and conducts on-site training at all Atlanta Fork Lifts locations and responds to customer sites on occasion. There is potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, chemicals, or solvents requiring knowledge of proper safety procedures. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously full-body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and reaching, etc. Employee must have normal manual dexterity and be able to effectively manipulate keyboard and phone. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
