Technical Writer Intern – Columbia, SC, Summer 2026
Schneider Electric’s Global Supply Chain team has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of a Technical Writer Intern in our Columbia, SC location for Summer 2026. No visa sponsorship or relocation will be provided for this role.

Key Responsibilities
Create, edit, maintain, and design technical documentation that supports the business objectives with a primary focus on Manufacturing Engineer guides and processes.
Collaborate with engineers and production supervisors to capture accurate process details and translate them into clear, user-friendly documents.
Administrative tasks that can help with manufacturing activities; updating information in operating systems, retrieving data from systems, and creating excel reports or pivot tables.
Product/component simplification and standardization which included analysis of existing components, research on alternatives and design of new component layouts.
Investigate, evaluate, document, and optimize existing manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
Actively pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Technical Writing, Mechatronics or a related field.
Ability to understand complex, technical information and communicate it to people with diverse professional backgrounds using plain language, proper sentence structure and proper style and usage, in various presentation formats.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic CAD or diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, AutoCAD, or Creo) is a plus.
Excellent grasp of grammar and ability to express ideas clearly in writing so that they are comprehensible to a non-technical audience.
Intermediate knowledge of technology to meet project requirements.
Flexible to changing needs and assignments with a strong ability to multi-task and prioritize activities to deliver on commitments.
Proficient knowledge and ability to apply skills towards document production, including template design, formatting, publishing, and graphic design requirements.
Solid work ethic - honor responsibility and commitment.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills (English language).
