Job Title: Switchgear Sales Engineer Location: Marietta, Ohio (Onsite | Limited Travel Required)

Note: Candidates must be based in Ohio and have direct hands‑on experience with low‑voltage switchgear.

Role Overview This position is ideal for a technically strong professional who also enjoys the commercial side of engineering. The Switchgear Sales Engineer will be responsible for developing tailored solutions and preparing accurate proposals for low‑voltage switchgear and power distribution systems.

The role involves reviewing project requirements, producing technical layouts, and working closely with internal teams to ensure solutions are both practical and competitive. Strong communication skills are essential, as this is a client‑facing role requiring collaboration across multiple departments.

Core Responsibilities

Evaluate project specifications, electrical one‑line diagrams, and related documentation

Prepare switchgear layout drawings and elevations for proposals and submittals

Assist with quotation development, ensuring speed and accuracy

Select and size electrical components, including breakers and control systems

Generate detailed cost estimates and formal quotations

Coordinate with engineering and production teams to validate design feasibility

Engage in discussions to clarify technical scope and project requirements

Contribute to cost optimization efforts without compromising performance

Maintain responsiveness in a high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment

Travel occasionally for meetings, project alignment, or technical discussions

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience

3–8+ years of relevant experience in switchgear, power distribution, or electrical infrastructure

Strong ability to interpret one‑line diagrams and electrical schematics

Experience specifying components such as breakers and control systems (e.g., ABB, Schneider, Eaton, Siemens)

Working knowledge of applicable UL standards; data center experience is a plus

Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable design software

Strong attention to detail with solid organizational skills

Ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial competitiveness
