Director, Plant Operations – Division of Animal Sciences University of Missouri – College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources.

We invite applications for the position of Director, Plant Operations in the Division of Animal Sciences. The selected individual will manage the new Michael L. Parsons Meat Science Education and Training Laboratory, coordinate livestock and meat procurement, manage regulatory compliance, supervise processing staff, and maintain compliance with humane slaughter standards and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Work with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with humane slaughter and food safety plans, including daily paperwork.

Coordinate and supervise daily plant operations including harvest, fabrication, and processing of meat products.

Coordinate with staff and faculty to create tasks for student workers and provide oversight.

Coordinate livestock and meat procurement and maintain inventory records.

Coordinate with division and farm faculty to meet teaching and research product needs.

Perform other duties as required to support the mission of the University of Missouri.

Shift 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday

Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Animal Science or Meat Science.

Animal handling experience and knowledge of animal anatomy.

At least 5 years of experience in meat processing.

Ability to lift 100 lbs repeatedly.

HACCP certification.

Anticipated Hiring Range $69,097.60 – $85,000.00 annually.
