Job Description
The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that delivers TD’s brand promise by applying financial expertise and consultative advice to assist customers with their banking solutions and needs. This role supports business growth by identifying appropriate TD solutions, helping customers achieve financial goals, and optimizing their relationship with the bank.
Responsibilities Proficiently handle products, services, and routine transactions, identifying opportunities to educate customers on bank products and referral when appropriate.
Apply broad knowledge of the full product suite, services, and processes with a focus on low to moderate complexity.
Build and nurture customer relationships through product knowledge and active listening, engaging in conversations to uncover additional needs and recommend solutions.
Make product recommendations based on customer needs, highlighting features and benefits that support customers through challenging times.
Use customer relationship management tools to assess customer needs and drive outbound sales activities.
Resolve customer issues independently, escalating when necessary.
Explain complex information clearly and build working relationships with customers.
Perform teller operations upon completion of training, including check cashing, deposits, transfers, and withdrawals.
Facilitate loan application intake and maintain active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
Engage in customer outreach, servicing, and advisory activities to deliver on the bank’s customer experience promise.
Qualifications High School Diploma or GED.
1+ year of customer-facing or sales experience (volunteer, education, or military experience preferred).
Teller experience preferred; ability to complete teller training upon hire.
Strong communication skills with concise, clear, and consistent messaging.
Excellent organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to schedule and prioritize work, meeting deadlines independently.
Sound judgment and effective problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred: Notary License.
