Role Summary The Executive Director provides spiritual, strategic, and operational leadership for GLS. The role oversees staff, operations, finances, and organization development to support field workers and projects.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy

Provide spiritual and organizational leadership

Lead mobilization, promoting bi‑vocational missions and recruiting missional professionals for cross‑cultural service

Guide strategic planning, goal‑setting, and organizational effectiveness

Strengthen GLS visibility and collaboration with US and overseas partners

Support board governance through reporting and communication

People & Culture

Supervise staff, contractors, and volunteers

Lead HR functions including hiring, development, and performance management

Cultivate a healthy, spiritually grounded organizational culture with an emphasis on prayer

Operations & Systems

Oversee daily operations, IT systems, and administrative processes

Guide development of organization‑wide CRM

Financial Stewardship

Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting

Ensure responsible resource allocation and financial sustainability

Lead donor development and long‑term fundraising efforts

Programs & Associate Care

Oversee Member Care services: onboarding & debriefing, retreats, field support

Ensure associates are strongly supported and well resourced

Stakeholder Engagement

Build relationships with donors, partners, and board members

Represent the organization at events and public forums

Compliance & Reporting

Prepare reports for the board and donors

Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices

Qualifications

Demonstrated spiritual maturity and active involvement in a local church

Significant senior leadership experience in a Christian nonprofit or missions context

Understanding of global missions with knowledge of China and/or the Muslim world

Cross‑cultural experience or experience supporting international teams

Proven ability in strategy, finance, operations, and team leadership

Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Willingness to travel up to 30%
