Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa invites a Marketing Manager to develop, implement, monitor, and measure an integrated marketing and communications plan that supports business objectives for Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa and its outlets.
The primary responsibility is to create annual integrated 360‑degree marketing plans that include objectives, strategies, and tactics for the hotel’s market segments and outlets (bars and restaurants). The goal is to enhance market presence, increase positive awareness, strengthen brand loyalty, boost market share, and drive increased revenues and profitability.
What does the role entail?
The Marketing Manager promotes awareness and maintains a positive brand image of the property and outlets at local, regional, and international levels through consistent and targeted public relations and marketing and digital campaigns.
Marketing
In conjunction with the Corporate Field Marketing team, create, activate, monitor, and measure annual integrated 360‑degree marketing plans.
Ensure marketing plans support the efforts of sales, revenue, and events teams.
Lead budgeting, activation, and assessment of programs to maximize investment.
Coordinate all communications between internal stakeholders and external vendor partnerships to meet marketing targets and deadlines.
Monitor competitive hotel actions and communicate findings.
Ensure all marketing materials and assets are within brand standards.
Provide input on creative direction for promotions, web projects, PowerPoint presentations, invitations, and printed collateral using design software such as Adobe Photoshop.
Plan, research, or coordinate with approved vendors and supervise the production of marketing materials.
Coordinate and assist with photo shoot initiatives.
Assist in organizing and planning property‑specific events.
Manage annual agency budgets and plans (public relations, advertising, online) as well as the local hotel marketing plan and budget.
Support Digital Cluster Manager on the implementation of digital recommendations.
Manage content strategy and messaging in website and digital channels.
Evaluate promotional and programming opportunities presented to the hotel and develop promotions and partnerships.
Forge and maintain relationships with local and industry‑related organizations.
Assist DOSM with preparation of marketing performance recap for owner meetings.
Public Relations
Oversee reputation management channels such as guest comment cards and online travel review sites.
Develop an action plan for guest engagement via TripAdvisor.
Review and approve press releases in collaboration with GM and DOSM.
Primary hotel contact for all public relations initiatives.
Develop, coordinate, and publicize special events to generate positive awareness.
Provide direction to the public relations agency on media placement goals.
Foster relationships with media at local, national, and international levels.
Coordinate proactive and reactive onsite press stays and visits.
Coordinate with agency to secure and execute press FAM trips and partner with local CVB on FAM trips.
Execute recommended corporate PR initiatives at the property level.
Develop and update hotel press kit, photography, and b‑roll.
Manage all on‑property filming requests and coordinate logistics and billing.
Social Media
Develop, coordinate, execute, and maintain a social media plan (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok).
Coordinate planning, investment, and reporting with social media agency.
Coordinate quarterly agency meetings to review performance.
Manage social media strategy, messaging, and ideation for the hotel and outlet.
Work closely with cluster digital marketing manager on paid social media activity supporting sales/revenue initiatives.
Administrative
Provide ongoing marketing leadership and guidance to the Leadership Committee.
Responsible for weekly and monthly reporting of marketing efforts.
Identify cadence for the hotel’s weekly marketing meetings with resort departments and develop agenda.
Attend weekly strategy meetings.
Host the hotel’s monthly marketing and public relations meetings.
Participate in brand training and the annual regional Marketing Summit.
Qualifications
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
Refined verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business preferred; Hospitality degree an asset.
Minimum 2–4 years of relevant integrated marketing experience (digital, events/PR, marketing/communications).
Experience in a fast‑paced digital marketing environment.
Strong media knowledge across all platforms.
Strong written and presentation skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Well‑connected within the market to build relationships supporting business objectives.
Web research skills and familiarity with major social media resources.
Professional communication in English, both written and verbal.
Minimum two years’ experience within Resort Sales or Marketing.
Minimum two years’ digital marketing experience (e‑commerce, mobile, email, social).
Proficiency in Opera, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Canva (or similar).
Training in selling, negotiating, business writing, and presentation skills preferred.
Ability to interact with diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Results‑driven, energetic, and service‑oriented style.
High energy, entrepreneurial spirit, effective communicator, and ability to improve bottom line.
Physical stamina to lift, push, and pull moderate amounts of weight and ability to stand/walk long distances.
