This opportunity entails contributing to the user experience and front-end design of software solutions under the guidance of more experienced engineers and designers. The role focuses on creating intuitive GUI/UX/UI concepts and translating them into clear wireframes, interactive prototypes, and reusable front-end patterns in partnership with software engineers. You will gain hands‑on experience with modern design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, GitHub) and support Agile delivery through research‑informed design decisions, accessibility considerations, and iterative feedback. This position builds foundational skills in the end‑to‑end product design lifecycle from user research and usability evaluation to design handoff and implementation‑ready specifications to enable functional, maintainable user interfaces across a range of software development efforts.
What You’ll Do: Writes, tests, and debugs software using modern programming languages and frameworks.
Collaborates with team members to understand requirements and deliver functional code.
Participates in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
Contributes to code reviews and follows established coding standards and practices.
Learns and applies version control, testing, and documentation best practices.
Assists in troubleshooting and resolving software defects.
Continuously develops technical skills through mentorship and hands‑on experience.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
In lieu of education, 4 years of relevant experience.
What You’ll Bring: Foundational UX/UI design skills, including wireframing, user flows, and interactive prototyping for web‑based applications.
Experience with modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Miro, and Adobe Creative Cloud (including XD), with ability to prepare implementation‑ready design specs.
Exposure to UX research and evaluation methods (e.g., heuristic reviews, usability testing, A/B testing, and competitor analysis) and comfort collaborating in Agile teams using tools like GitHub/Jira.
Understanding of accessible design principles (WCAG 2) and basic front‑end fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support effective design handoff and implementation.
What We Prefer: Portfolio, internship, or project experience delivering UX/UI work end‑to‑end (research insights → wireframes/prototypes → style guides/design systems → developer handoff), including examples of accessibility‑focused improvements.
