Position Summary This role is ideal for an individual with CAD training who wants to grow in the high voltage industry and who demonstrates initiative, technical ability, and a strong work ethic. This CAD Designer will create drawings using CAD software. This position will be in Alexandria, LA.
Duties And Responsibilities
Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce shop and erection drawings, plans, and bills of material, based on project/equipment specifications and requirements, ensuring accuracy and consistency
Read and interpret equipment specifications and details
Communicate and coordinate consistently with engineers and senior designers to clarify design intent
Ensure that all drawings and plans adhere to company and industry standards and guidelines
Iterate and issue revisions and version control
Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of drawings and plans
Quality Assurance/Quality Control reviews
Issue submittal packages
Maintain organized and up-to-date project files and records
Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
Training in AutoCAD 2D drafting
Willingness to learn and grow into advanced CAD responsibilities
Strong computer skills and technical aptitude
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work under deadlines
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Highly motivated, self-starter
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be local to Alexandria, Louisiana
