Job Title
Supervises children attending the Community Recreation Center camps. Nature Of Work
Provides supervision and direction to children attending the Community Recreation Center camps. Work is performed under the direction of the Recreation Program and Sports Coordinator. Essential Functions Of Work
Work with children aged 5-12 who are attending summer camps, schools out camps, and after school programs. Assist in developing and implementing programs. Monitors facility and surrounding area to ensure safe and proper conduct; reports safety or hazard concerns to supervisors. Education & Experience
Some knowledge or experience with the following types of camps: Sports, Drama, Dance, Hiking, Mountain Biking, Swimming, Gymnastics, or Art. Training in early childhood development is desirable. Prior day care or childcare experience is desirable Necessary Special Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age or older Employee must possess a Montana driver's license. Possess ability to drive a 15-passenger van. Requirements Of Work
Must have a desire to work with and provide direction to children ages 5-12. Ability to communicate creative ideas and suggest projects for implementation. Ability to enforce policy rules and regulations. Ability to manage conflicts or disputes arising between participants in a calm and appropriate manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public. Core Competencies Energetic Creative Problem Solver Safety Minded Initiative Supervisory Responsibility This position does not supervise staff but is responsible for supervising children participating in camp programs. While it does not hold formal supervisory authority, the role provides leadership through technical expertise, offering daily direction, guidance, and oversight of camp activities and camp counselors. Work Environment Work is performed in various settings including outdoors. While performing the duties of the position employees may be exposed to inclement weather conditions. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, crawl, twist, reach, ride and perform similar body movements. Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time; the possession of hand/eye coordination sufficient to operate a motor vehicle; the ability to talk and hear in person or by telephone; and the ability to see and read instructions and reports. Expected Hours Of Work The work schedule varies, Sunday through Saturday. Work is typically performed Monday through Friday. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime. Any overtime must be authorized prior to working. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day. Occasional travel may be required to attend off-site training and educational opportunities.
