Join us as a Summer Banking Trainee where you will have a unique opportunity to learn more about the banking industry and career options, grow your professional network, and support our retail banking branches. In this versatile and multifaceted role, you'll play a vital part in meeting the financial needs of both new and existing customers while gaining the knowledge and support to grow your career. You'll deliver friendly and efficient customer service during daily bank transactions, develop customer relationships, and actively promote our various bank business lines with the goal of growing our customer base. You will receive 2 weeks of teller training in our Learning Lab before joining a branch to grow your customer service skills and complete teller transactions. As a Banking Trainee, you will also have an opportunity to learn more about a multitude of career options within the banking industry, even including fields such as Marketing, IT or HR. You'll gain insight and development opportunities as you spend time shadowing in a department of interest and learning from current employees. We have positions open across our branch locations in central and southern Maine, and at our newest branch location in North Conway, NH! Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Finance or Business. Cash handling experience preferred. Basic computer fluency. Top-notch verbal and written communication skills. Positive attitude and ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Self-motivated and driven with exemplary engagement. Willingness to accept direction/instruction and work well within a team of professionals. Exceptional internal and external customer service with demonstrated relationship-building skills. Additional Requirements: Saturday morning availability required. Dependable transportation, as position will include travel to different Norway Savings Bank locations for shadowing opportunities. Commitment to be available for summer dates ranging from May to August. Working Conditions: Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards. Physical effort required; lifting up to 35 lbs.; reaching, twisting, bending, pushing and pulling; standing for extended periods of time; freedom of movement on a regular basis; handling of materials and supplies.
