Shipping and Receiving Specialist
– Denver, Colorado Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm
Position Overview Responsible for order fulfillment, shipping finished goods, tracking inventory, receiving raw materials, and maintaining compliance with DOT and IATA shipping regulations while ensuring safety in accordance with OSHA standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare products for shipment via small package carrier or skid for LTL/TL carrier based on customer specifications.
Utilize UPS/Fed‑Ex shipping software along with LTL shipping software to process shipments.
Pick products from finished goods inventory per work order instructions and advise Customer Relations of any stock issues.
Prepare all materials according to MicroCare standards and cGMPs.
Process incoming returns and ensure proper disposition of returned inventory.
Apply DOT and IATA shipping regulations and assign proper classification of materials based on shipment methods.
Maintain accurate weights for documentation on work orders.
Maintain warehouse optimization, organization and inventory accuracy.
Receive products from vendors and verify accuracy of packing lists.
Load and unload trucks as needed with powered forklifts.
Ensure all personnel comply with OSHA safety regulations.
Keep work areas neat and safe and communicate any unsafe conditions or activities.
Promote an incident‑free workplace by complying with safety policies and participating in safety trainings.
Work at multiple locations as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Competencies / Experience
Detail‑oriented independent work style.
Forklift experience.
Knowledge of production processes.
Goal‑oriented, able to work under pressure, prioritize and multi‑task.
Excellent organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ year of shipping & receiving experience.
Ability to read and interpret shipping documents (labels, packing slips, bills of lading).
Ability to operate all warehouse equipment, including standup and sit‑down forklifts.
Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
Basic computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel.
Ability to read, write and speak English.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of UPS/FedEx and LTL shipping software.
Inventory management experience.
Experience shipping hazardous materials.
Familiar with DOT and IATA shipping regulations.
Forklift trainer certification.
Physical / Environmental Qualifications
Lifting up to 70 lbs unassisted and >70 lbs with aids.
Continuous reaching/working overhead.
Frequently stands, walks, sits, climbs, pushes, pulls, and carries items.
Work environment subject to seasonal temperature variations.
