Administrative Assistant for Lakeland Athletics
Huron Valley Schools is looking for a positive, collaborative and data interested individual to support as an Administrative Assistant within the Lakeland Athletics department. Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical/Secretary Salary: HVESP Contract, Class/Lane 4A, $19.15 - $23.90 Location: Lakeland High School Reports To: Director of Athletics Start Date: As Soon As Possible Work Year: 44 Weeks Hours: 40 Hours per week Qualifications: A belief in the concept that athletics are an integral part of education and a genuine interest in promoting positive public relations regarding such. Demonstrate strong clerical skills, including proficiency with computer technology and the English language. Computer proficiency should include, but is not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, Desktop Publishing, and Access and a basic familiarity with PowerPoint. Demonstrate mastery of Internet skills including downloading and transfer of forms, files, and programs. A working knowledge of basic accounting procedures. The ability to maintain efficient office records, including confidential records. Must possess strong organizational skills. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Applicant's computer technology skills will be tested. Description: Directly responsible to the Athletic Director. Exhibit excellent telephone skills in answering questions concerning the Athletic Department. Maintain an orderly procedure for processing and filing purchase orders and invoices and bookkeeping for activity accounts. Type routine office correspondence and forms. Maintain accurate petty cash records. Record, deposit, and organize all records pertaining to gate receipts and pay to play fees and recreational fees collected at the facilities. Assist in communications with advisory committees. Assist in contracting all officials for athletic contests and provide follow up confirmation one week before the contest. Issue pertinent scheduling information to coaches, principals, ground crew, building personnel and the media. Finalize, type, and distribute seasonal athletic schedules for secondary schools. Responsible for typing correspondence, athletic contracts, and transportation requisitions for each season in various reports. Issue contracts for all athletic contests between schools. Finalize, type, and distribute season ending summaries for head coaches. Prepare and issue coaching contracts for every sport in each season. Responsible for payroll for all hired personnel. Assist in ordering all medical and office supplies. Provide secretarial support and assistance for pool and recreational facilities at the high school and middle school. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma and related experience. Language, Mathematical and Reasoning Skills: Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
