Summary

The Patient Services Access & Reimbursement Marketing Manager (MM) is responsible for developing and implementing access and reimbursement initiatives and tactics for APS Gastroenterology brands. This role requires a strong understanding of the reimbursement, coverage, and access barriers with provider-administered products and devices covered under the medical benefit as well as self-injectables and specialty drugs covered under the pharmacy benefit.

The successful candidate will partner cross-functionally to drive alignment across a complex, matrixed organization, collaborating closely with APS, as well as Brand, Trade, Market Access, Co-Pay Center of Excellence, Market Research, Analytics, and Field Reimbursement teams to ensure integrated strategy, consistent execution, and seamless pull-through.

The ideal candidate has working knowledge of the payer landscape, buy-and-bill, and specialty pharmacy acquisition models and insight into field access team support needs.

Manage internal and external agency partners to execute integrated marketing tactics on time and within budget, ensuring clear scopes of work, disciplined budget tracking, proactive timeline oversight and high-quality execution.

Operates at the highest level of AbbVie compliance and professional standards ensuring all marketing initiatives adhere to regulatory, legal, and company guidelines while consistently applying sound judgment and ethical decision-making.

This role does not have direct reports, but the individual must demonstrate the ability to influence and lead cross-functionally to drive organizational change and gain alignment across stakeholders. The candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment, focusing on producing exceptional customer experiences and high-quality deliverables with specific measurable results.

The role requires agility, strong organizational skills, and a patient-centric mindset.

This individual will report to the Associate Director, Patient Services.

Key Job Responsibilities

Working with internal and external agencies and other partners to develop innovative and impactful initiatives and tactics that align to the Patient Services strategic imperatives and APS marketing priorities.

Lead content creation for HCP and office staff facing access and reimbursement challenges as well as support the development and maintenance of digital channels directed to HCP customers.

Support the development of the PSP brand positioning across stakeholders for new and enhanced patient services support care models, including identifying barriers to patient access and developing innovative solutions to help HCPs address those needs.

Support the AD in managing the marketing budget while identifying efficiencies and opportunities to maximize resources.

Deliver marketing briefs, develop timelines to accomplish tasks, and anticipate impediments to project timelines.

Partner with business insights and analytics teams to measure the effectiveness of access/reimbursement campaigns and recommend improvements.

Track and manage segment budgets for access/reimbursement marketing programs.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

Ability to build collaborative working relationships across stakeholders at various levels throughout the organization.

Strong project management, planning skills, and attention to detail.

Experience taking materials through an MRL/review process.

Demonstrated ability in developing and supporting marketing plans and program pull – through.

Experience with managing multiple external agencies.

Strong working knowledge of healthcare processes in the following areas:

Buy-and-Bill and Specialty Pharmacy acquisition channels

Benefit verification and prior authorization

Claim submission and denial management

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum of 5+ years in healthcare, pharma, biotech, or diagnostics marketing, with the ideal candidate having previous pharma HCP marketing experience.

Functional expertise in field access and reimbursement team operations.

Launch experience preferred.

Strong storytelling capabilities, excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

A balance of analytical thinking and creative vision.

Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. Additional Information

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
