Straub Collaborative is a leading creative production studio specializing in high-volume eCommerce photography and visual content for global brands. Our teams operate in a fast-paced studio environment where creativity, technical precision, and collaboration drive the production of world-class imagery.
We are seeking an experienced Photographer Level 2 to support on-model and product photography shoots in our Portland studio. This role plays a critical part in executing high-quality imagery, directing on-set production, and ensuring consistency with client standards and workflows.
What You’ll Do Lead On-Set Execution
Direct on-model, tabletop, and mannequin shoots with confidence
Own the pace and flow of set—keeping teams aligned and production moving
Collaborate with stylists, HMU, and talent to execute clean, consistent looks
Make real-time adjustments to lighting, composition, and framing
Maintain consistency across high-volume, repetitive shooting environments
Deliver High-Quality Imagery
Capture images that align with client style guides and creative direction
Ensure accuracy in focus, exposure, color, and composition
Execute against shot lists and deliver required image counts
Maintain precision in file naming, metadata, and shot tracking
Perform quality checks before assets move downstream
Own Workflow & Output
Manage image workflow from capture through handoff
Ensure files are uploaded, organized, and archived correctlyPartner with production to hit daily output goals and timelines
Provide accurate time estimates and support scheduling needs
Keep production efficient without sacrificing quality
Drive Consistency & Improvement
Participate in pre-production planning and post-shoot reviews
Build and maintain lighting diagrams, references, and visual guides
Identify ways to improve speed, consistency, and workflow
Document processes to support repeatability across teams
Support the Studio Team
Mentor and support junior photographers
Collaborate with stylists, producers, and studio leadership
Maintain organized digital and physical workspaces
Assist with studio setup, breakdown, and general operations
What You Bring
2–3 years of experience in commercial or e-commerce photography
Strong portfolio showing studio-based or high-volume work
Confidence directing talent and managing on-set dynamics
Strong technical foundation in lighting and capture workflows
High attention to detail with a focus on consistency and efficiency
Ability to work quickly and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Technical Skills
Capture One proficiency required
Experience with professional camera systems (Canon, Phase One)
Studio lighting experience (Profoto or similar)
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop required)
Familiarity with ShotFlow or similar tools is a plus
Comfortable working on Mac systems
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and work on a studio floor for extended periods
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in low-light environments with frequent lighting changes
Ability to move throughout studio and warehouse spaces
Work Environment
Fast-paced e-commerce production studio
On-set and warehouse environment
Work performed under active production lighting and shoot conditions
