Role Overview
We’re looking for a savvy, creative, and data-driven digital communicator to elevate our brand, build engagement, and help us connect with diverse audiences. The Marketing & Communications Associate supports the creation and delivery of strategic communications and marketing that elevate the organization’s mission and impact. Centered on storytelling, this role develops content across email, website, social media, and program materials to engage current audiences and reach new ones.
Responsibilities
Brand Alignment: Support consistent tone, style, and messaging across communications in alignment with Teton Science Schools’ mission and voice.
Content Development & Coordination: Write, edit, and help manage content across digital platforms, including social media, newsletters, and website updates. Share stories that highlight programs, people, and place-based learning experiences.
Multimedia Support: Assist in creating and organizing multimedia content, including graphics, photos, and video, to enhance storytelling and program visibility.
Collaborative Coordination: Work alongside program staff, educators, and partners to gather stories, align messaging, and support shared communication goals.
Social Media Coordination: Draft and schedule posts, engage with audiences, and monitor performance to maintain a thoughtful and active social presence.
Data Tracking & Reporting: Assist in tracking and compiling communications performance data to inform and refine future efforts.
Competencies And Qualifications
Passion for education, the environment, and nonprofit work, and a commitment to the mission of Teton Science Schools.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, media, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of professional experience in digital communications, graphic design, and content creation, or a similar role.
Strong storytelling and writing abilities, with a talent for creating compelling content that resonates across a range of audiences.
Proficiency with digital tools, including Meta Business Suite, Canva, Google Suite, and Campaign Monitor or similar platforms.
Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and see them through independently.
Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with team members, partners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with digital analytics tools to track performance and inform strategy.
Contribute to the execution of TSS events.
Assist with other marketing and communications duties as assigned to support the Marketing team and program areas of TSS.
Familiarity with the Mountain West region and its communities is a plus.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Able to write/type/community
Primarily indoors in an office setting: sitting and standing for long stretches while using a computer
Able to sit/stand at a desk for up to 8 hours
TSS Responsibilities
Support institutions and external collaboration of programs, resources, curriculum, and staff to efficiently and effectively support TSS mission
Proactively and positively shares the TSS mission and program structure with external stakeholders.
Support cross-organizational initiatives
Actively contributes to and practices the TSS values
