We believe our work is a fundamental expression of optimism in the future, and that design is a means to effect positive, enduring change.The Role We Want You For:Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC) is looking to hire all levels of Designers to join our team in Kansas City as a contributor to a variety of design projects, research, and conduct analysis to support our diverse and innovative Industrial Design practice.The ideal candidate will enhance and assist the practice’s leadership team, helping it grow and expand its Phoenix presence and portfolio through intentional project pursuits and client relationships. The Design Staff is collaborative with colleagues and will work across LJC disciplines and parent company Clayco’s construction and real estate arms to complete projects that are vertically integrated in the enterprise.Role Responsibilities:Responsible for the delivery of projects from design concept through final completion of deliverables and submissions with a high level of qualityAble to conduct analysis of various data sets, develop and document design and urban planning concept, and create project presentationsCoordinates with a multi-disciplinary design teamAssists with project management and serves as a key client liaisonProvides technical assistance on topics related to planning, the regulatory environment, urban design and site design for a variety of project types and scalesAttends meetings with public- and private-sector clients, including governmental entitiesRepresents LJC in the community and at civic eventsFamiliarity with public engagement tools and processesApplies planning knowledge and practiceDevelops intentional civic and public engagement tools and processesPractices LJC’s core values of integrity, humility and fearlessnessQualifications:A Designer at LJC possess:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field3+ years of relevant, demonstrable experienceDemonstrated competence with AutoCAD/Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS and 3D modeling toolsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to graphically explain ideasDemonstrates a consistent understanding of the delivery and implementation of design thinkingCompetitive salary and compensation401K and profit-sharing plansA full complement of employee benefits, including health, dental and vision plans; flexible spending accounts; life insurance; disability coverage; and employee assistance programmingLJC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
