Position Overview
Pharmaceutical is a critically important leadership role within Health Monitor Network (HMN) responsible for providing management, mentoring and motivation of the field based pharmaceutical industry and healthcare agency sales team to support generating new business, maintaining and growing current and new accounts, and fostering key decision maker relationships, for the purpose of driving advertising sales of HMN digital and print programs with pharmaceutical brand teams and healthcare advertising and media agencies throughout the United States.
Essential Job Functions
- Leverages strong brand contacts in the Pharmaceutical Industry
- Serves as a trusted partner with the SVP of Sales in developing and executing the Pharmaceutical and Media Agency Market Sales Strategy.
- Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and DTC and/or HCP marketing.
- Responsible for development of new opportunities from initial client engagement through deal closure for the pharmaceutical and media agency market (or growing business with existing clients through a targeted account selling (strategy)
- Proactively develops and engages with the SVP of Sales for approval of territory and client growth plans.
- Owns and delivers against the quarterly and annual sales targets (quotas) for their assigned territory client targets.
- Assures Customer Relationship Management (CRM) accurately reflects daily, weekly client sales activity and proactively develops plans to maximize client facing interaction as the primary engagement activity.
- Collaboratively works with peers and management to support delivery of Health Monitor print and digital products.
- Maintains and raises awareness of the competitive landscape, providing customer feedback/insights to Internal key stakeholders that can be helpful to the sales organization.
- Participates in trade shows that are pertinent to targeted accounts, with the goal of maintaining and growing the business.
- Follows up on marketing, alliance & partnership and inside sales teams on leads; provides SVP of Sales a recommendation on the business opportunity.
- Responds to RFPs/RFIs in a timely fashion working collaboratively with account managers, project managers, marketing and others to ensure a professional proposal is delivered on time, and inclusive of all the necessary information needed to give us the best shot at winning the business.
- Understands the Health Monitor Network Sales Process Workflow, providing valuable insight to internal key stakeholders ensuring an effective transition process from deal closure to implementation in order to deliver on customer expectations.
- Coordinates with the analytics and research team to provide ROI analysis of programs to pharmaceutical brands and their respective media agencies.
- Manages the entire sales process, both internally and externally, enabling transparency and teamwork towards achievement of goals.
- Is an expert in understanding all Health Monitor Products in order to deliver an effective sales presentation to assigned clients.
- Understands all elements of Brand Team Strategic Planning & Tactical execution. Develops a thorough understanding of each client’s business, vision, sales, and decision making in order to develop a clear path forward toward delivering on quotas.
- Takes a proactive approach to self-development in order to enhance productivity.
- Performs all job functions in a compliant manner.
- Completes all required reporting in a timely fashion (i.e. T & E expenses completed monthly, CRM productivity completed daily)
- Performs other duties as assigned by the SVP of Sales or CCO
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years sales leadership experience selling into pharmaceutical brand teams and/or pharmaceutical brand media agencies.
- Strong brand contacts in the Pharmaceutical Industry are preferred
- Consistent track record of achievement against sales/revenue targets.
- Proven skills working as an individual contributor as part of a sales team
- High emotional intelligence in the collaboration with customers, peers, cross-discipline departments and respective leaders.
- Places a premium on positive, solution orientation in all dealings with key stakeholders; adapt at providing constructive feedback to others and willing to be actively coached by SVP of Sales for constant skill development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written.
- Strong business development and account management experience.
- Proficient in CRM, MS Office, sales tools and mobile devices.
- Strong sales metric analysis skills to diagnose and improve performance.
- High degree of initiative, organization, accuracy, sense of urgency and solution orientation
- Track record that demonstrates personal initiative, and the capability to overcome challenges.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25% or more of work week
