Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

About the Role:

As a Women’s Wear Designer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and trend-forward apparel collections that resonate with diverse consumer preferences across the United States. Your role involves conceptualizing designs that balance aesthetics, functionality, and marketability while aligning with the brand’s identity and seasonal themes. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including merchandising, production, and marketing to ensure designs are feasible and meet quality standards. The position requires staying abreast of fashion trends, fabric technologies, and consumer insights to continuously evolve the product line. Ultimately, your creative vision and technical expertise will drive the development of compelling women’s wear collections that enhance brand presence and commercial success.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.

Proven experience designing women’s wear with a strong portfolio showcasing creativity and technical skills.

Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric properties, and production processes.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working within the United States fashion market or knowledge of regional consumer preferences.

Familiarity with sustainable and ethical fashion practices.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Knowledge of 3D design tools and virtual prototyping technologies.

Previous experience in trend forecasting and merchandising.

Responsibilities:

Develop original design concepts and detailed sketches for women’s apparel collections.

Select appropriate fabrics, colors, and trims that align with design intent and production capabilities.

Collaborate with pattern makers and sample makers to create prototypes and refine garment fit and construction.

Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform design direction and anticipate consumer needs.

Work with sourcing and production teams to ensure timely delivery of samples and final products.

Present design ideas and collections to internal stakeholders and incorporate feedback effectively.

Maintain organized records of design specifications, technical packages, and material selections.

Participate in fittings and quality reviews to ensure final products meet design and brand standards.

Skills:

The required skills such as proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are essential for creating detailed design illustrations and technical flats that communicate your vision clearly to production teams. Your deep understanding of garment construction and fabric characteristics enables you to design pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and manufacturable.
