Maven is looking for an exceptional sales Director to join our Employer Sales team. In this role, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for driving growth across our employer segment. You’ll create market demand, develop strategic approaches to prospects and buyers, and structure deals that are compelling, scalable, and aligned with Maven’s long‑term growth.
As a category‑defining company operating in a fast‑paced environment, success in this role requires the ability to evangelize Maven’s value with credibility and conviction—across your team, prospects, consultants, and the broader market. This role reports to the VP of Employer Sales.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and motivate a high‑performing sales team to consistently achieve and exceed revenue targets
- Build and scale pipeline across assigned market segments
- Partner with Sales leadership on hiring, goal setting, coaching, and performance management
- Own sales forecasting and reporting, providing clear visibility into pipeline and revenue performance to inform strategy and drive accountability
- Guide your team through the full sales cycle, from qualification through close, including complex RFP processes
- Represent Maven at industry events and conferences deepen consultant and buyer relationships and strengthen Maven’s position in the market
- Partner with Customer Success to identify and pursue upsell opportunities within existing accounts
- Build and expand relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, including brokers, payers, and benefits platforms
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Marketing, Channel, Finance and Product leadership to sharpen Maven’s sales strategy, processes, and go‑to‑market approach
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading high‑performing sales teams preferred, ideally within HR/Benefits
- Experience building, hiring, and developing top‑performing sales talent
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence decision‑making across all levels of an organization
- Strong track record of building and maintaining executive‑level relationships, both internally and externally
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort leveraging AI tools to improve team productivity, accelerate pipeline development, and sharpen sales intelligence
- Thoughtful, highly organized leader with experience driving cross‑functional initiatives
- Strong analytical instincts and experience leveraging Salesforce to manage pipeline, forecast accurately, and inform strategy
- Established network with key healthcare stakeholders (e.g., brokers, benefits administrators, platforms)
- Experience translating market feedback into actionable insights for product and go‑to‑market strategy
- Track record of operating effectively in fast‑paced, cross‑functional startup environments
Compensation and Benefits
The OTE range for this role is approximately $350K-$400K per year. You will also be entitled to stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.

Our teams primarily operate from the New York Metropolitan area, NY, San Francisco/Bay Area, CA, Seattle, WA, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C. For those in our New York City office, we encourage in‑person collaboration by requiring team members to work onsite three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). For those based in San Francisco/Bay Area, CA, Seattle, WA, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C., we encourage in‑person collaboration by requiring team members to attend quarterly Work Together Days within these cities. This policy aims to balance remote work flexibility with the benefits of face‑to‑face interaction.
