Account Executive
WUSF public media is a leading source of news, information, and cultural enrichment for West Central Florida. We reach over one million people monthly through our NPR news station WUSF 89.7, Classical WSMR 89.1 & 103.9, and an extensive digital presence including live streaming, podcasts, newsletters, and social media. As a department of the University of South Florida, we have a dedicated team of 80 professionals and an annual budget of $10 million. We are deeply committed to building community through trusted journalism, classical music and culture that reflects the world around us. Our professional staff works closely with talented student interns. Our main studios are on the USF Tampa campus, with additional broadcast and production facilities on the USFSM and USFSP campuses.
As an Account Executive you are responsible for cultivating and soliciting corporate and non-profit financial support (underwriting) for all WUSF Public Media platforms and events, including analog and digital broadcast, online and digital, and achieving annual revenue goals.

Salary plus monthly commission
Cultivate and solicit media sales from commercial enterprises, businesses and non-profit organizations (underwriting), and achieving annual revenue goals. Manage the sales and sales relationship process by developing and maintaining corporate sales by prospecting, generating qualified leads, cultivating the client's relationship with WUSF Public Media and presenting sales proposals which result in a signed agreement. Media sales products include, but are not limited to WUSF 89.7 NPR, Classical WSMR 89.1 and 103.9, HD broadcast channels, event sponsorship and various digital products including websites, newsletters, streaming pre-roll and podcasts.
Liaison with internal departments (Programming, Production, Traffic, Business Office) to ensure proper execution at every level of the media sales agreement.
Provide stewardship for sponsors through strong customer service and client relationships, including resolution of past due accounts, billing discrepancies and scheduling discrepancies.
Attend external functions and other community-based events for lead generation, such as Chamber of Commerce meetings and station-sponsored events. Attend sales and staff meetings and other station events.

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a bachelor's degree in business administration or communications and three years of experience related to professional sales or media sales. Five years of experience related to professional sales/media sales or a combination of education and experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in digital media sales.
