Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engages in an active commitment to, and experiences, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and, insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.

Teach courses in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, particularly in the residential Fashion Design program. Responsibilities may include: design and construction, textiles, fashion illustration skills, draping for apparel design, merchandising, and flat pattern for apparel design. Responsible for class lectures and grading assignments.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Reports to Family and Consumer Sciences Dept. Chair.

Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.

Strong organizational skills.

Advanced computer skills.

Classroom management and allocation of teaching resources.

Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.

Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Non-supervisory role.

Qualifications and Credentials
Education and Experience: Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the fashion design discipline or related areas. All degrees must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants must demonstrate a personal faith commitment to Liberty University’s evangelical Christian purpose, as well as full adherence to its evangelical mission and doctrine.

Applicants should possess organizational skills and the ability to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff are required.
