The Audio Visual Technician is responsible for the setup, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of our clients video conferencing and audio-visual technologies. This role supports high level management and staff by ensuring conference rooms, video meetings, and presentation technologies operate seamlessly.
The technician coordinates video conferencing events with end users and Information Services staff, maintains video conferencing hardware and AV systems, and assists with media production and recording. This is a highly visible, client-facing role that requires strong technical troubleshooting skills and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
Launch, monitor, and support video conference sessions while coordinating with internal teams to ensure successful meetings.
Troubleshoot conference room technology issues and engage appropriate resources to quickly resolve problems.
Perform routine quality assurance checks on conference room technology and audiovisual systems.
Set up and configure audio-visual equipment for meetings, presentations, webinars, and events, including projectors, Zoom, and WebEx sessions.
Record meetings and presentations, perform basic video editing, and upload content to the firm’s media server.
Monitor and respond to user requests through the AV team inbox and ticketing system.
Maintain accurate inventory records for audio-visual equipment within the firm’s asset management system.
Support and maintain video conferencing hardware including endpoints, bridges, and related infrastructure.
Continuously build expertise in firm-supported technologies, applications, and hardware.
Develop familiarity with the firm’s business operations to improve service delivery and support.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; professional certifications such as Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) are a plus.
4+ years of experience in a professional environment with increasing responsibility; professional services experience preferred.
2–4 years of hands‑on experience supporting and troubleshooting video conferencing and audio‑visual technologies.
Experience supporting video conferencing hardware including endpoints, bridges, gateways, and related infrastructure.
Familiarity with AV technologies such as Crestron control systems, user interfaces, and Cisco conference room solutions.
Strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service and collaborating with IT team members.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in high‑pressure situations.
Ability to clearly communicate technical instructions to attorneys and staff both verbally and in writing.
Flexibility to support meetings and events outside of normal business hours when required.
Willingness to carry and respond to a mobile phone for support needs.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
